Privacy policy

MARQUE is a trading name of Marque Drive (a ScaleMBS company), trading as MARQUE. This policy describes how MARQUE collects, uses, stores, and shares personal information when you browse the marketplace, create an account, verify your identity, or make or receive a reservation.

We collect account information (name, email, phone number), identity documents and biometric verification results processed through Stripe Identity, driver's license details, insurance documents and policy information which are stored in private, access-restricted storage, payment information handled directly by Stripe, booking and trip history, communications with support, and technical information such as device and browser data.

We use personal information to verify identity and eligibility to rent, process reservations and payments, prevent fraud, provide customer support, communicate about bookings, comply with legal obligations such as insurance and tax requirements, and improve the marketplace.

When you verify your identity, your government-issued identification and a live selfie are processed by Stripe Identity, a third-party identity verification provider. MARQUE receives a verification result and limited identity attributes from Stripe, but does not directly store your raw identity document images.

Insurance documents you upload, or an operator's proof of commercial rental insurance, are stored in private storage that is not publicly accessible and is limited to authorized MARQUE personnel and the counterparties to a specific reservation who need it to complete that transaction.

All payment card and bank account information is collected and processed by Stripe. MARQUE does not store full card numbers or bank account numbers on its own systems. Stripe's own privacy policy governs its handling of that payment data.

When you make a reservation, MARQUE shares the information the operator reasonably needs to fulfill that rental, which may include your name, verified age, license status, contact information, and a summary of your verification status. Operators are contractually required to use that information only to fulfill the rental and related insurance or legal obligations.

We share information with service providers who help us operate the marketplace, including Stripe for payments and identity verification, cloud hosting providers, and analytics providers who receive only aggregated, cookie-free usage data as described in our analytics practices. We may disclose information if required by law, or to protect the rights, safety, or property of MARQUE, our users, or the public.

We retain account and booking information for as long as needed to provide the service, resolve disputes, and comply with legal, tax, and insurance recordkeeping requirements, which for rental and financial records is typically several years after a transaction. Identity verification results are retained only as long as needed for fraud prevention and legal compliance.

If you are a California resident, the California Consumer Privacy Act and related law give you the right to know what personal information we collect, request deletion of your personal information (subject to legal recordkeeping exceptions), correct inaccurate information, and opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information. MARQUE uses a lightweight, cookie-free analytics approach that records page views and product events without setting tracking cookies or collecting personal identifiers, IP addresses, or device fingerprints.

We use administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect personal information, including encryption in transit, access controls on private storage, and reliance on payment industry certified providers such as Stripe for sensitive payment and identity data.

The marketplace is not directed to children and is not intended for use by anyone under 18 years old.

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be posted on this page with an updated effective date.
